ABIE France
In France, ABIE is an active association of over 120 members, including representatives of Australian companies invested in France and major French groups with interests in Australia such as AXA, Pernod Ricard, Thales, Alcatel etc., and many smaller companies and other Australians working in France in media, marketing, and international organisations.

ABIE France organises events where those interested in cultivating business contacts between Europe and Australia can meet. Over the years ABIE has invited a series of key figures from the private and public sectors in France and Australia to be guest speakers at its regular business functions. From the Australian Government previous speakers have included the Prime Minister, the Hon. John Howard, the Treasurer the Hon. Peter Costello and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Alexander Downer. From the private sector speakers at ABIE functions have included the Chairmen and/or Chief Executives of companies such as AXA, Pernod Ricard, Lyonnaise des Eaux, Accor, Pechiney, BNP, Chargeurs, Normandy La Source and Brambles.

ABIE France also organises less formal events such as breakfast meetings, business briefings, wine tastings and other networking opportunities for its members. ABIE members from other countries visiting France are always welcome to attend ABIE functions in France.

ABIE is the only Australian business organisation in France -- and the Australian Ambassador to France, M David Ritchie, is the Honorary President of ABIE France. ABIE France is run by a committee of ten members, treasurer and chairman, with secretarial and administrative support from the Australian Embassy.
